Why Google, Amazon and Facebook parent Meta are ‘warning’ against Hong Kong cyber rules



Google, Amazon, Meta, and other tech companies expressed concerns over proposed cyber security regulations in Hong Kong. The regulations grant the government broad access to private systems, potentially impacting service integrity. AmCham and local business groups also voiced objections. The government argued the legislation is essential for national security and economic protection, citing similar laws in China and Singapore.
